Tonight's game against Crooked Oak continues the Cyclone winning streak and finds the team undefeated in its third week. The final score of 35 to&nbsp;0 leaves no doubt that the 2009-10 team has an unmatched&nbsp;spirit. The win comes after two games--the first&nbsp;against Fort Worth All Saints and the second versus the Heritage Hall Chargers.<br /><br />The bell rings again tonight. Congratulations Cyclones. <P style="MARGIN: 0in 0in 0pt">After a nationwide search, Casady has appointed Mr. Peter B. Huestis as its next Upper Division Director. An experienced educator and administrator, Mr. Huestis brings a unique ability to inspire and support excellence while developing tangible ways to ensure that every qualified student learns effectively.</SPAN></P>
<P style="MARGIN: 0in 0in 0pt">&nbsp;</SPAN></P>
<P style="MARGIN: 0in 0in 0pt">“The committee and I are impressed with Mr. Huestis’ depth, his clarity and his vision for what a truly top-notch school is about,” said Headmaster Chris Bright. “He is someone who will be able to provide critical leadership for an already outstanding faculty in pursuit of the finest educational experience for each of our students.”</P>
<P style="MARGIN: 0in 0in 0pt">A native Canadian, Mr. Huestis comes to Casady from Forsyth Country Day School (FCDS) in Lewisville, North Carolina, a pre-kindergarten through 12<SUP>th</SUP> grade independent school with more than 1,000 students. As the Associate Headmaster for External Affairs, he developed and implemented strategic plans to increase awareness of the school and to maximize efficiency within the administrative structure. </SPAN></P>
<P style="MARGIN: 0in 0in 0pt">&nbsp;</SPAN></P>
<P style="MARGIN: 0in 0in 0pt">Dedicated to the idea that every student achieves success, he also created a program to help those with language-based learning differences.&nbsp;Named “Multisensory Academy of Practitioners at Forsyth Country Day School” or MAPS, the program serves students in grades nine through 12 by infusing the school’s college preparatory curriculum with multisensory methodologies. The result: an individualized educational experience that unlocks each learner’s potential to achieve success. After casting a vision for the program, Mr. Huestis then undertook a fundraising campaign and raised $1.66 million in only 12 months. Today, the program has grown to 25 students with no more than five students per class.</SPAN></P>
<P style="MARGIN: 0in 0in 0pt">&nbsp;</SPAN></P>
<P style="MARGIN: 0in 0in 0pt">“Peter took the merest germ of an idea—to create a program to serve children with language-based learning differences—and grew it into a reality,” said Henry M. Battle, Jr., Headmaster at FCDS. “Frankly, we became a better school as a result of our work with him.”</SPAN></P>

<P style="MARGIN: 0in 0in 0pt">Mr. Huestis left FCDS for a short time to serve as Headmaster of the Davidson Country Day School. While there, he implemented new administrative policies and improved technology through a new data management system, email and website.</SPAN></P>

<P style="MARGIN: 0in 0in 0pt">His wealth of experience is not limited to the classroom, either. Mr. Huestis has worked with both the Miami Heat and Boston Celtics basketball teams as guest relations agent and free agent camp coach, respectively. He earned a master’s in sports management from Barry University in Miami Shores, Fla., and a bachelor’s in history from Bishop’s University in Sherbrooke, Quebec, Canada.</SPAN></P>

<P style="MARGIN: 0in 0in 0pt">Perhaps just as impressive as his resume, Mr. Huestis has tangibly demonstrated a deep and abiding commitment to all aspects of education and is highly regarded for his integrity—both as an individual and as an academician. In his leadership statement he contends that the 3Rs must now include “Rigor, Relevance and Relationships.”</SPAN></P>

<P style="MARGIN: 0in 0in 0pt">“The rigor of the academic program must meet the needs of the students now and prepare them for life as successful college students and effective members of an increasingly global marketplace,” he said.
