New Faculty in 2019-20

Casady School takes pride in its robust and talented faculty and staff and has the opportunity to fill positions with unique and experienced individuals who will continue Casady's mission to develop excellence, confidence, and integrity in our students.
Ashley Bates, Primary Division Faculty: Ashley Bates has joined Casady as a member of the Primary Division faculty. Mrs. Bates has extensive experience teaching children and working with them in a variety of roles. Mrs. Bates received her Associate of Applied Science in Early Childhood Education from Oklahoma State University. Mrs. Bates previously served as the Assistant Director of Creative Playschool in Oklahoma City.
Jeff Bingham CPA, Chief Financial Officer: Jeff Bingham joined Casady in April as the School’s Chief Financial Officer. Mr. Bingham came to Casady with 31 years of experience in financial and business operations. He was  Vice President and CFO for Oklahoma Christian University for 16 years where he oversaw financial and business operations, investment management, information technology, student financial aid, facilities management and construction, human resources, and international programs. Most recently, Mr. Bingham served as the Vice President of Operations for Oklahoma Christian Academy. Mr. Bingham earned a Bachelor of Science in Accounting from Oklahoma Christian University and is currently pursuing a Master of Business Administration with West Texas A&M University.
Art Bogan, Varsity Girls' Basketball and Physical Education: Art Bogan has joined Casady as a new coach in Physical Education and will also serve as the Cyclones' Varsity Girls’ Basketball Coach. Mr. Bogan will teach P.E. classes, coach basketball, and assist with football and Casady’s strength and conditioning program. Mr. Bogan has been an assistant coach at Seminole State College, Chipola College, and Southern Nazarene University. He served as the sub-committee chair for the State Advisory Group on Juvenile Justice and Delinquency Prevention. Mr. Bogan received a Bachelor of Science in Kinesiology from the University of Montevallo in Alabama.
Ricki Brakefield, Digital Community Coordinator: Ricki Brakefield joins Casady as Digital Community Coordinator to handle all social media platforms, digital communications, and photography. Ms. Brakefield is a recent graduate of the University of Central Oklahoma where she received her Bachelor of Arts in Strategic Communications, which has specifications in advertising, public relations, and brand communication. While studying at UCO, Ms. Brakefield worked as an intern for Oklahoma Energy FC and participated in the American Advertising Federation’s National Student Advertising Competition.
Candice Clinton, Middle and Upper Division Counselor: Candice Clinton has joined Casady’s Department of Psychological Services as the Middle and Upper Division Counselor. Ms. Clinton has worked as Director of Therapeutic Foster Care Services, served as a mental health therapist at Eagle Ridge Institute, been a mobile assessment clinician with Integris Hospital Baptist Medical Center, and worked as a mental health therapist at Integris Hospital Decisions. Most recently, Ms. Clinton had a private therapy practice where she provided age appropriate care for groups, families, and individuals. Ms. Clinton completed a Bachelor of Science in Family and Child Development and a Master's of Education in Guidance and Counseling at the University of Central Oklahoma.
Morgan Collette, Third Grade: Morgan Collette will be a part of Casady’s Lower Division Team as a new third grade teacher. Mrs. Collette attained her Master's of Education in Educational Leadership at East Central University after earning her Bachelor of Science in Early Childhood Education, also from ECU. Mrs. Collette has previously taught kindergarten and second grade.
Michael Cooper, Associate Director of Admission: Michael Cooper joined Casady School this summer as the Associate Director of Admission and Enrollment Management. Mr. Cooper came to Casady from Oklahoma Christian University in Edmond where he served as Assistant Director of Admission. He received his Bachelor of Science in Sports, Wellness, and Recreation with a Minor in Math and Education as well as his MBA with an emphasis in Leadership and Organizational Development from Oklahoma Christian. In addition to his new admission role, Mr. Cooper will also serve as an assistant coach for the Cyclones' varsity baseball team.
Kevin Crossno, Upper Division Dean of Students: Kevin Crossno is returning to Casady to serve as Upper Division Dean of Students. Mr. Crossno previously taught history in Middle Division at Casady, directed theatrical performances in Middle and Upper Divisions, and worked as Assistant Director of Middle Division. Prior to his return, Mr. Crossno was Head of Intermediate and Middle School at All Saints Episcopal School in Tyler, Texas. Mr. Crossno earned a Bachelor of Science in Organizational Administration from Oklahoma State University before completing a Master’s degree in Educational Leadership from Southern Nazarene University. Mr. Crossno’s wife joins the Upper Division as a member of the English Department.
Stephanie Crossno, Upper Division English: Stephanie Crossno is returning to Casady to fill a role teaching English in the Upper Division. Previously, Mrs. Crossno taught English in the Middle and Upper Divisions and served as the Upper Division Theatre Director for nine years. Mrs. Crossno has 36 years of teaching experience, 29 of which are in independent schools, and she has served as an Oklahoma A+ Schools fellow since its inception in 2002. Prior to her return to Casady, Mrs. Crossno taught at All Saints Episcopal School in Tyler, Texas, where she served as English Department Chair. Mrs. Crossno’s husband joins Casady as Upper Division Dean of Students.
John Greene, School Resource Officer. Casady welcomes John Greene as our new School Resource Officer from the Oklahoma County Sheriff's Office. Officer Greene brings over 20 years of law enforcement service to Casady School. Most recently, Officer Greene has been with the Community Services Division of the Oklahoma County Sheriff's Office where he has had SRO experience with the Edmond School District, Deer Creek, and Christ the King School. Officer Greene will have a strong presence on campus as a member of Casady's Campus Security Team.
Delia Hamilton, Primary Division Faculty: Delia Hamilton is joining Casady's Primary Division Faculty this year. Mrs. Hamilton attended Universidad San Martín de Porras in Lima, Peru, studying Social Work. She also studied ESL at the Sisters of Notre Dame Educational Center. Her professional development includes nutrition and health in addition to childcare. Mrs. Hamilton’s previous education experience includes Allegheny Day Care and Amudipe Early Learning Academy in Philadelphia, Pennsylvania. Mrs. Hamilton joins her husband, Mr. Jonas Hamilton, who is a member of the Upper Division History Department.
John Jensen, Eighth Grade Science: John Jensen has joined Casady’s Middle Division as eighth grade science teacher. Mr. Jensen has been a member of the Casady Community for a number of years and served as a football coach for Varsity Athletics from 2012-2015. Mr. Jensen earned his Bachelor of Science from Southwestern Oklahoma State University followed by a Master's of Sports Science from the United States Sports Academy. Prior to his return to Casady, Mr. Jensen coached football at Crossings Christian School and served as a minister at Council Road Baptist Church.
Heath Lowrie, Technology Help Desk: Heath Lowrie joined Casady School in May as operator of the Technology Department's Help Desk. Mr. Lowrie has two years of help desk and troubleshooting experience, and more than 10 years of customer service, ministry, and communications experience. Mr. Lowrie attended Heartland Baptist Bible College, where his focus was Biblical Studies.
Rachel Manriquez, Administrative Assistant for Athletics and Physical Education: Rachel Manriquez is beginning her new position at Casady as the Athletics and Physical Education Administrative Assistant. Ms. Manriquez received her Bachelor of Arts in Communication from the University of Oklahoma, where she also played on the women’s volleyball team. Ms. Manriquez has helped coach numerous volleyball teams in the past, and will continue to serve as Casady’s Assistant Volleyball Coach while also working to incorporate and manage Casady Athletics’ social media presence.
Mindy Moss R.N., School Nurse: Mindy Moss has joined Casady as the School's first nurse and has settled into her new office in the Activity Center, between Loeffler Primary and Powell Lower Division buildings. Nurse Moss has more than 15 years experience as a Registered Nurse and is an Oklahoma State Certified School Nurse. Nurse Moss earned her Bachelor of Science in Nursing at Southern Nazarene University. She has most recently been a health careers instructor at Canadian Valley Technology Center.
Ben Oldham '95, Sixth Grade History: Ben Oldham has joined the Middle Division Team as the sixth grade history teacher. In addition to being a Casady alumnus, Mr. Oldham obtained his Bachelor of Arts in both Computer Science and Theater Arts from Carleton College in Northfield, Minnesota. Mr. Oldham has taught and directed theatre, and most recently taught math at Westminster School. Both of Mr. Oldham's parents previously taught at Casady School.
Samuel Peregrin, Upper Division History: Samuel Peregrin comes to Casady’s Upper Division to join the History Department. Mr. Peregrin acquired his Master of Arts in Liberal Arts from St. John’s College in Santa Fe, New Mexico, after receiving his Bachelor of Arts in Letters from the University of Oklahoma. Mr. Peregrin previously taught sixth and seventh grade literature and grammar at The Academy of Classical Christian Studies in Oklahoma City.
Kathy Rangel, Primary Division Faculty: Kathy Rangel is joining Casady’s Primary Division Faculty. Ms. Rangel has 20 years of experience in communication and graphic art and received her Bachelor of Arts from The University of Central Oklahoma with concentrations in Education, Art, and Foreign Languages. Ms. Rangel comes with a variety of experience, and has previously been an art supervisor, and a director of an orphanage in Haiti.
Ryan Robinson, Band Instructor: Ryan Robinson joins Casady as a band instructor for Middle and Upper Division. Mr. Robinson completed his Bachelor of Music Education at Pittsburg State University in Pittsburg, Kansas, before earning both a Master's of Music in Percussion Performance and an Master's of Music in Composition from Oklahoma City University. Mr. Robinson has experience as a percussion instructor at schools and camps in Oklahoma, Missouri, and Kansas. Most recently, Mr. Robinson was the percussion assistant at Yukon High School and an instructor this summer at Southwestern Oklahoma State University's Marimba Camp.
Simon Sarkodie, Seventh Grade English: Simon Sarkodie joins Casady's Middle Division Team as the seventh grade English teacher. Mr. Sarkodie comes to Casady from Reynoldsburg City Middle and High School in Reynoldsburg, Ohio, where he was a long-term substitute teacher. Mr. Sarkodie earned a Bachelor of Arts in English and African American Studies from Hunter College in New York before earning a Master's of Art in English from the University of Virginia, where he was a teaching assistant and instructor.
Laura Scheer, First Grade: Laura Scheer joins Casady as a member of the first grade teaching team. Mrs. Scheer comes to Casady with 19 years of experience in education. Prior to coming to Casady, Mrs. Scheer served as a first grade teacher and master teacher for the Faculty Fellows program at Wesleyan School in Peachtree Corners, Georgia. Mrs. Scheer earned a Bachelor of Science in both Special Education and Cognitive Studies from Vanderbilt University, followed by completing her Master's of Education degree at Georgia State University. Mrs. Scheer’s husband, Dr. Scheer, also joins Casady as the Middle Division Director.
Dr. Jason Scheer, Director of Middle Division: Casady welcomes Dr. Jason Scheer as Middle Division Director. Dr. Scheer has 18 years of Independent School experience, having taught, coached, and worked in administration at Wesleyan School, an independent school in Peachtree Corners, Georgia. He holds a Doctor of Education from the University of Georgia and earned a Master's of Education in Science Education from Georgia State University and a Bachelor of Science in Biology from the University of Central Oklahoma. Dr. Scheer held several administrative and leadership roles at Wesleyan. First, as Middle Division Dean of Students followed by four years as Director of Diversity, helping Wesleyan craft their Diversity, Equity, and Inclusion programs. Most recently, Dr. Scheer served as Wesleyan’s Director of Strategic Initiatives. Dr. Scheer’s wife, Mrs. Scheer, is joining Casady's Lower Division faculty as a first grade teacher.
Amanda Wolff, Primary Division: Amanda Wolff is joining Casady Primary Division Faculty to teach Kindergarten Enrichment and assist with After School care. Before coming to Casady, Ms. Wolff worked at Capital Montessori School in Lacey, Washington, and Childrens House Montessori School in Norman.

Familiar Faces | New Places

Versatility and talent are key in Casady School's faculty base. Several members of our community are assuming new roles this year. 

Julie Braun '84 has moved from the second grade team in Lower Division to join the third grade team.
Brannan Crossno '12 has moved into the Communications Manager role, leading the Communications Team. He was previously Digital Community Manager.
Dr. Wes Fryer has been named to a newly created position, Technology Integration and Innovation Specialist to work with faculty to enhance technology in the classroom. Dr. Fryer has also joined Middle Division to teach fifth and sixth grade computer courses.
Gabe Gerard has moved to the Upper Division Science Department from Middle Division where he taught eighth grade science and coordinated seventh and eighth grade athletics.
Jeremy King is now leading Casady's IT Department as Technology Manager. Mr. King joined Casady in 2018-19 and has been an integral part of the Tech Team.
Lee Linn '74 will now spend her mornings as a teaching assistant in Primary Division and her afternoons with Extended Day and After Care for our younger Cyclones. Previously Mrs. Linn was Administrative Assistant for the Athletics and Physical Education Department.
Jen Matias has moved from teaching enrichment courses in Primary Division to leading a Kindergarten classroom.
Andrea Nesbitt has moved from assistant teaching in Primary Division to Kindergarten Enrichment.
Kristin Salter has moved from Kindergarten Enrichment to a Pre-K classroom.
Mallory Staats has joined Middle Division to teach fifth grade geography after previously teaching in Lower Division.
Whitney Stone '95 has moved from sixth grade history to eighth grade English.
