Fr. Rick Stansberry has been a priest for 23 years and is pastor of Christ the King Catholic Church and School in Oklahoma City.
Christ the King is the largest Catholic elementary school in the Archdiocese of Oklahoma City. His first assignment was at St. Charles Borromeo in Oklahoma City as an associate pastor, and his first parish as pastor was Saints Peter and Paul Church in Kingfisher. Prior to serving at Christ the King, he was pastor at St. Francis of Assisi Church and Rosary School in Oklahoma City. In addition to being a pastor, Fr. Rick, is also the Judicial Vicar for the Archdiocese of Oklahoma City and works in the Chancery office two days a week. Fr. Rick is dedicated to education and while pastor at Kingfisher, Rosary and Christ the King, he has led expansions and renovations of each of the schools. Fr. Rick also serves on the board of Bishop McGuinness Catholic High School and the Oklahoma Conference of Catholic Schools Accreditation Board. In 2010 he was honored with the Distinguished Pastor’s Award from the National Catholic Education Association in Washington D.C. In 2011 Fr. Rick received the Person of the Year Award from the University of Notre Dame Club.

Daily mass, visiting the sick of the parish, preparing couples for marriage, counseling, performing baptisms, funerals, weddings, and many other celebrations in people’s lives are only a few of Fr. Rick's duties. He also assists teaching eighth grade religion at Christ the King School and has taught classes in Canon Law for the Archdiocese Pastoral Ministry Program and the formation for Deacons. He has celebrated several weddings in the Chapel of St. Edward the Confessor on the Casady campus and has spoken here many times over the last 23 years. Fr. Rick serves on the Archdiocese of Oklahoma City Finance Council, Catholic Charities of Oklahoma City Board, and helped start the Oklahoma City Chapter of Legatus, which is a national organization for Catholic Business leaders and executives. He also just finished serving on the Catholic Charities Capital Campaign for a new headquarters building. He has also served on the board of Mount St. Mary High School, Conception Seminary College Board of Regents, and Good Shepherd Catholic School for Autistic Children.

Fr. Rick graduated from Southern Methodist University in Dallas with a Bachelors in Business Administration, Oklahoma City University with an MBA, St. Meinrad Seminary with a Masters in Religious Education and a Master of Divinity Degree, and the Pontifical University of St. Thomas Aquinas in Rome, Italy, with a JCL degree in Canon Law. Fr. Rick enjoys his work and being able to help people when they often need it the most, especially spiritually. When he does have free time, he enjoys travelling and visiting historic places. In 2016, he will be a chaplain on his first trip to the Holy Land, and to World Youth Day in Kracow, Poland.
