Macey Stapleton is an international development professional and Middle East specialist, dedicating the past three years of her career to Syria conflict response and leading monitoring, evaluation, research, and analysis efforts for the USAID/Office of Transition Initiatives (OTI).
She holds an MA in Arab Studies from Georgetown University’s Center for Contemporary Arab Studies, with a concentration in Economics and Development. Prior to her graduate work, Ms. Stapleton worked in the Department of English Literature and Linguistics at Qatar University. A near fluent Arabic speaker, she previously studied Arabic in Egypt (Center for Arabic Study Abroad Fellowship recipient), Qatar (Qatar Language Scholarship recipient from Georgetown University), and Morocco. Ms. Stapleon currently resides in Turkey.
