On Wednesday, Jan. 30, Casady's Junior Classical League (JCL) hosted the inaugural certamen competition on campus.
Students from Norman North, Edmond North, and the Academy of Classical Christian Studies all came to participate and compete in the certamen. Twenty-eight Casady students competed and acted as exceptional hosts to our guests from schools around the metro.
Our students also performed well in the competition! Casady teams worked hard and had fun in the competition, earning some impressive final scores and placements.
Isabel Zedlitz, Nonie Reding, Lillie Jordanov, and Nathan Hollander won third place in the Novice Level.
Jonah Craine, Vivienne Sweet, and Jason Li won first place in the Intermediate Level.
Spencer Anderson, Kyuna Lee, and Allison Jones won second place in the Intermediate Level.
Lukas Schneider, Vasili Klonis, and Kristian Klonis won first place in the Advanced Level.
Nicolas Moore, John Pippin, and John Tolbert won second place in the Advanced Level.
The National Junior Classical League explains certamen to be: "a game of fast recall of facts about classical civilizations and its peoples, languages, and cultures. The matches are supposed to be fun, competitive, and informative."
