Oklahoma City Mayor Speaks to UD

Friday morning, Oklahoma City Mayor David Holt attended Upper Division Chapel. Mayor Holt spoke to the students about the function of local city government and how it affects citizens' lives daily.
He also shared the students how far the city has progressed in the past 20 years, and where he hopes to see the city head into the future.

At the conclusion of his Chapel Talk, Mayor Holt encouraged each Upper Division student to to remember what it takes to be part of a democracy and as a citizen when they move beyond Casady's campus.

"You will carve out time for your professional life, but I would submit to you to do the same for your civic life," Mayor Holt said. "Especially for people who have received a really great education here at Casady and great exposure to the world at large. You are well prepared to be the people who are making these decisions."
