Remote Learning at Casady to Continue

Dear Parents,

Due to the ever changing CDC and governmental recommendations regarding the community’s response to the COVID-19 crisis, the Casady School campus will remain closed indefinitely, and we will continue the success of our remote learning model. This crisis looks a lot like a marathon and less like a sprint. As conditions change where the concern for large groups and social distancing are diminished, Casady School will aggressively evaluate our current status. Because of our talented faculty, we are confident our remote learning model is sustainable and aligns with the mission of Casady School.

While the numbers continue to grow, I am optimistic that soon we will be able to see the crest and begin the downward turn in virus cases. I want nothing more than for our students to experience at least some of the many special “end of year” activities. However, I am also pragmatic; I know that if we break our resolve to beat this virus through social distancing and isolation too soon, we will simply watch it spike again.

The Dalai Lama said, “It is very rare or almost impossible that an event can be negative from all points of view.” This pandemic is no exception. Although this is considered to be a time of global crisis, I am heartened to see families slow down and be together, whether it be for long walks or epic table games. We are blessed to spend time with family. I have seen exceptional bravery by our health care workers, and I see some of the most creative teaching by Casady’s education team.

We have a lot to be thankful for. I am grateful and appreciative for:
  • Our Faculty who have spent countless hours preparing to teach remotely;
  • Our Staff who have supported our Faculty providing resources, guidance, and encouragement;
  • Our Maintenance, Grounds, Dining, Janitorial, and Security team who have worked tirelessly to provide meals during this shut down, keep our campus and buildings clean and tidy, and control access to campus;
  • Our Administration for encouraging and supporting our Faculty and responding to questions you might have;
  • Our Donors for supporting the School financially so we can continue to have the resources we need to deliver an exceptional Cyclone education remotely;
  • Our Students’ flexibility after their world turned upside down seemingly overnight;
  • Our Parents for your willingness to partner with our Faculty in the delivery of Remote Learning.
None of the excellent work we are doing could happen without every person in our community doing their part to facilitate the continuation of your child’s education. Oklahoma’s own Will Rogers says it best, “In times of crisis, people want to know that you care, more than they care what you know.” Let’s keep showing each other we care; after all, we are Cyclone Strong!

Faithfully,
