Selecting a school is one of the most important decisions a parent can make. At Casady, we take that investment seriously and work to provide our students a life of balance, purpose, and joy.
Casady's academic program provides our students the challenges and opportunities necessary to develop critical and creative thinking skills, the ability to plan, evaluate and implement actions, and most importantly, the support to nurture their passions.
Competitive athletics and physical education are central to the development of leadership and teamwork as well as self-confidence and respect for others.
Through the arts, students can learn valuable skills and talents that provide universal benefits and gain an understanding of a world deeper than they had previously believed. Fine arts programs are imperative in fostering creativity and inspiring the mind, as well as the imagination.
Casady's advancement initiatives help further the Mission of the School by supporting programs and activities that take place in the classroom, on the stage, or on the field.

Casady seniors have been selected as National Merit Semifinalists by the National Merit® Scholarship Program.
Casady seniors Divya Chandrasekaran, Abby Fakhoury, Kiran Naidu, Jes Stanfield, and Drew Walters have been selected as National Merit Semifinalists by the National Merit® Scholarship Program. The National Merit Scholarship Program "honors individual students who show exceptional academic ability and potential for success in rigorous college studies."
“Our community is blessed to have so many students who believe, as I do, that scholarship is an important part to the foundation of a successful life,” Head of School Nathan L. Sheldon said. “I recognize and honor the nominations; they represent untold hours of hard work and dedication. I am proud of what these students have accomplished and am excited to see what their futures hold.”
The National Merit Scholarship Program began in 1955 as an academic competition for recognition and scholarships. High school students enter the National Merit Program by taking the Preliminary SAT/National Merit Scholarship Qualifying Test (PSAT/NMSQT®)—a test which serves as an initial screen of approximately 1.5 million juniors in 21,000 schools—and by meeting published program entry and participation requirements.
Divya, Abby, Kiran, Jes, and Drew have an opportunity to continue further in the competition, which awards 7,500 National Merit Scholarships worth about $30 million that will be offered in the spring of 2022. From the 16,000 semifinalists, about 15,000 are expected to advance to the Finalist level and will be notified of this advancement in February.
All winners of Merit Scholarship awards, who will be known as Merit Scholars, are chosen based on their abilities, skills, and accomplishments—without regard to gender, race, ethnic origin, or religious preference. As stated on the website, a variety of information is available for the "selectors" to evaluate each finalist including academic record, information about the school's curricula and grading system, two sets of test scores, the school official's written recommendation, information about the student's activities and leadership, and the finalist's own essay.
