American Design Festival

Casady's American Design students gathered for the first-ever "Exposition of Learning" Festival.
Casady's American Design students gathered for the first-ever "Exposition of Learning" Festival. Six teams of students presented their city-wide design challenges for their invited parents, administrators, and faculty.

During the design challenge, students worked with Oklahoma City community "clients" who presented their real-world problems for the team to analyze and address. As part of this culminating festival, the teams outlined their design process, their challenges, and their solutions with video and photo documentation.

American Design is the flagship course of Casady's Interdisciplinary Studies program. Juniors take American Design and receive a history and English credit. Interdisciplinary Studies is an integrative, inquiry-based learning experience encouraging intrinsically-motivated thinkers that leads students to explore topics through a focused lens that crosses into multiple subject areas. Through this learning strategy, our students become adept at making connections and solving problems from a variety of perspectives.
