Students Against Hunger Casady Cans Do Food and Funds Drive!

Dear Members of the Casady Community,

It is almost time for the annual Students Against Hunger Casady Cans Do Food and Funds Drive. It will run Monday, Oct. 30 through Friday, Nov. 3. About 17 percent of Oklahoma's population is considered food insecure.

That means 652,090 individuals, more than 250,000 of which are children, are unsure where they will get their next meal, according to Feeding America’s Map the Meal Gap 2014 Report. That's a huge amount of people, and if you choose to give just a little bit of what you have to them, it would be a great help!

In our community, food is often taken for granted and sometimes we tend to overlook those people who are in dire need of these basic necessities. This is our chance to give back to Oklahoma and to extend our help to families that need it.

One dollar is equal to 6 pounds of food, which means you are giving 5 Food Bank Meals to people in need! You can drop your donations by the front offices and the UD Student Center Oct. 30 through Nov. 3 from 7:15-8:10 a.m. We accept donations of cash, checks, and cans. Checks payable to the Regional Food Bank of Oklahoma. Please consider donating to the Casady Food and Funds Drive this coming week!

Natalie Wood, Manager of Donor Relations with the Regional Food Bank of Oklahoma, spoke at Middle and Upper Division Chapels to share the mission of the Food Bank and the impact communities like Casady can have in the success of that mission. One of Mrs. Wood’s favorite experiences in her job is the opportunity to travel to different schools informing students, faculty, staff, and parents can help the fight to end hunger in our state. Our Plan, and Your Help...

Join the Casady Community raising canned donations and funding for the Regional Food Bank of Oklahoma! For years, Casady has been working with the Food Bank along with many other schools to raise canned food donations for those in need. This year Casady YAC (Youth Active in the Community) would like to set a new record for cans and funds donated, and we believe that with your help we can do that. So YAC is calling on our Casady Community to help raise money and donate cans of food.

Join us in our fight against hunger.
