It is an exciting time to be part of Casady Athletics!  The commitment from Casady to our student athletes, this year alone, is greater than anytime I can remember.

Casady has begun the move into the OSSAA athletic conference, while keeping our storied Boys Volleyball and Women’s Field Hockey programs in the SPC, allowing for the best level of competition, academic and athletic balance and recognition for all of our student athletes.

  • The School has hired a new Athletic Director, Mike Shepherd, who brings to our athletic program over 30 years of experience in sports operations and coaching at the NCAA level.
  • The School has added an Assistant Athletic Director, Cade Davis, who has sports operational experience and has played athletics at the Division 1 and professional level.
  • A new head football coach, Ty Prestige, and staff brings to the football program decades of experience.
  • All of this, which Casady adds to our tenured coaching staff, makes for an exciting time to be a student athlete at Casady School.

Thank you to all of our Booster Club members and sponsors this past year.  Your partnership and belief in Casady Athletics, especially during a time of change is very much appreciated.  Your funds this year have made a huge impact on all Upper and Middle Division teams.  This year, all funds were spent on all athletes, not just a major gift for one sport.  For the 2021-2022 athletic year, your dollars at work provided:

  • $20,000 in strength and conditioning equipment in the Athletic Training Room which every student athlete at Casady uses.
  • DJ Allen, co-author of Lon Kruger’s book about leadership will be coming in August to hold a half day seminar for all of Casady’s coaching staff about leadership and motivating teams ensuring our coaching staff begins the year with a consistent and clear approach to leading our athletes.
  •  Approximately $30,000 has been allocated to updating the front foyer of Bennet Athletic Center with new tables and chairs and additional soft seating for all of our athletes to enjoy before and after practice and for team dinner events.

None of this would have been possible without your monetary support, your support in the stands of all of our athletes, and your support at home for your own student athletes.  We appreciate you.

It is our intent to improve school spirit and enthusiasm for athletics, not only for the students, but for parents and the Casady Community as a whole.  The best way to do this is by getting involved:
  • Join the Booster Club and help us raise money for new equipment just with your membership dollars that go towards the highest priority need.
  • Purchase a Spirit Square for your UD student-athlete to be placed in the Cyclone Sports Guide.
  • Purchase a VIP Parking Spot for select sporting events.
  • Become a Sponsor with an advertisement for your business in our Cyclone Sports Guide.
  • Or simply attend more Casady sporting events to cheer on and support our student-athletes.  After all, who wouldn’t want a stand full of supporters cheering you on at a game!  It’s an experience they will never forget so let’s make it a positive one.

We hope that you will join us in making athletics a positive experience! For more information or to direct fund equipment, please contact the Cyclone Booster Club at gocycloneboosterclub@gmail.com or the Club President, Amanda at awolszewski@yahoo.com.

    Spirit Squares FAQ

    What is a Spirit Square?
A Spirit Square is an individual picture highlighting your Upper Division student-athlete in the Cyclone Sports Guide!  Sports Guides are published for each sports season with a fall, winter, and spring edition.  You can highlight your student-athlete in just one, two, or all three editions.  Pictures are professionally taken by J. Holland Photography each season.  All you have to do is fill out the form, pay, and write a personal “shout-out” or message to your athlete!  Sports Guides are distributed at athletics events, are available to all Casady families, and are mailed to all Cyclone Booster Club supporters.

    Why would I purchase one?
A Cyclone Sports Guide highlighting your student-athlete will become a cherished keepsake for your student later down the road.  100% of the proceeds from the purchase of a Spirit Square is used to benefit Casady student-athletes and the Athletic Department.  Some Booster Club membership levels include Spirit Squares as a benefit.  You can learn more about the mission of the Cyclone Booster Club at https://www.casady.org/advancement/cyclone-booster-club

    Who can purchase them?
Spirit Squares can be purchased for ANY Upper Division student-athlete or cheerleader participating in sports (by season).  It is not just a “senior thing”.

    What do they cost?
Individual Spirit Squares are $75 per season, per athlete.  Cheerleaders and 3 season athletes (appearing in all 3 issues) receive a discounted rate of $150 for the year.

    When are reservations due?
Reservations and personalized text for the School Year can be reserved by August 14th for the year, or are due to Casady each season.

What if I have siblings that play sports in the same season and I do not wish to purchase a Spirit Square for each athlete?
Siblings, including twins and sometimes triplets, can “share a square” for the individual price of $75 per season, but the photos will be cropped to fit the space.

    Can I personalize the picture?
To retain consistency in photo quality, only official individual pictures can be used.

How do I personalize my message?
The message space allows for approximately 125 characters.

    Sample Messages:
    • Good luck this season XXXXX!  We love you!  Mom, Dad, XXX, XXX and Grandma
    • Have an amazing senior year.  Take time to enjoy every moment-it is going to fly by.  Love Dad, Mom, and XXXXX
    • Believe in yourself, push your limits, and do whatever it takes to accomplish your goals! We are so proud of you!

    How do I sign up?
You can download the form to mail in or create an online Spirit Square reservation by visiting the Cyclone Booster Club Page.  Please fill out the form and write a personal “shout-out” or message to your athlete in the space provided on the form.  It’s that easy!
