Class Schedules Beginning 2026-27

Casady School offers a 15-year experience intentionally designed to prepare students for success and to inspire young people to honor, to learn, to engage, to innovate, to serve, and to thrive.
Casady's Strategic Academic Plan is the School’s road map for how we accomplish our mission of developing skills and knowledge in students that contributes to their success. It calls us to focus pedagogy around imparting key Skills and Knowledge, Durable Learning, Student Engagement, Community Engagement, and Wellness.
Casady School is committed to these principles and is confident that Middle and Upper Division class schedules will set the stage for our teachers to continue to deliver on these goals. Senior academic leadership has spent more than a year studying and researching school schedules, visiting schools across the country to observe how they use time, and working with consultants, including Independent School Management, to evaluate and consider the best schedule for Casady School.

Throughout this process, there have been three guiding goals:
  • Enhanced alignment with our Strategic Academic Plan
  • Improved use of time to accommodate a growing enrollment
  • Best use of time to take advantage of our new Kirby Family Hall for Dining and Engagement

Upper Division Schedule Highlights

The Upper Division schedule highlights 75-minute class periods, creating opportunities within teaching blocks for more durable learning experiences such as labs, projects, and multi-modal teaching. Long blocks also mean students have fewer classes to prepare for each day.

Students have the ability to pursue additional classes that interest them with dependable times each day for study. Students have at least one study hall, ensuring that they have time to meet with teachers during the school day to get extra help on challenging work. Other important benefits include smaller class sizes, opportunities to engage with our larger OKC community, learning labs, and fewer cognitive transitions during the school day.

Middle Division Highlights

In Middle Division, our mission is to support young adolescents as they cultivate their curiosity, character, and courage as well as acquire the skills and knowledge to be prepared for Upper Division. Time is spent with students to learn and explore, to practice and play, to engage and reflect, to grow and, ultimately, to thrive.

Prioritizing cadence and variety by scheduling classes, academic and elective, to rotate throughout the day benefit our students and teachers in both morning and afternoon energy. Additionally, maintaining a schedule that does not ask students to prepare for more than four academic classes a day preserves daily advisory or Soulcraft time.
