Mark McCubbin served as Chairman and CFO of McCubbin Hosiery LLC from 1982 through 2019, partnering with his brother David McCubbin ’76, President of the company. McCubbin Hosiery, founded by their father and grandfather in 1952, was a soft-soled footwear company which designed, sourced and distributed socks, tights, slippers and pre-walkers throughout the world.
Licensed brands such as Stride Rite, Keds, Disney, Pendleton and Robeez were sold to domestic customers which included Costco, Wal-Mart, Sam’s Club, Nordstrom, Dillard’s, Target and Amazon.com. In late 2013 Guardian Capital Partners of Wayne, PA acquired a majority share of the company.

From April 2020 through December 2021, Mr. McCubbin served as the CFO of the Oklahoma County Criminal Justice Authority. Mr. McCubbin graduated from Casady School in 1974 and from Dartmouth College in 1978 with a BA in History. His Casady lineage extends in all directions.

Mark’s father, Richard B. McCubbin, left the family business to pursue his true calling which was to teach. Dick McCubbin taught History at Casady from 1968-1980 and in 1975 became Chair of the History Department.

In 1980 Dick became Casady’s 6th headmaster until his retirement in 1990. D’Arline McCubbin was equally invested in the life of the School, serving joyfully alongside Dick in nearly every aspect of campus life.

Mark served on the Casady Board of Trustees from 1997-2004 and as board chair from 2001-2003. He served as campaign director of the $43 million Forward Focus capital campaign completed in
2008 and most recently with Sally Nichols Starling ‘93 as co-chair of the $35 million Campaign for Casady School, completed in 2024. He has been past board chair of the YMCA of Greater Oklahoma City and the Boys & Girls Clubs of Oklahoma County. Mark also serves on the boards of TEEM (The Education and Employment Ministry) and the Integris Health Foundation.

Mark and his wife, Marta, have two daughters, both Casady lifers along with their father and their uncles David McCubbin ’76 and Carey Joullian ’78. Sarah McCubbin Brown ’05 and Alison McCubbin ’06 both live in Oklahoma City and have given Marta and Mark three perfect grandchildren.

The opportunity to attend and later to serve Casady School has been one of the great privileges of his life.
