A Casady Senior's Foundation

Maddy Lu
Casady senior Gage Martin started his foundation, 4 Kids by Kids, at the beginning of the pandemic.
He was concerned that many school-age children and teens would not have access to healthy food due to school closures. Martin wanted to create a way to eliminate food insecurity in the midst of uncertain times.

“4 Kids by Kids Foundation's mission is to focus on making the maximum positive effort for kids in our community,” Martin said. “We assist in providing solutions that make a long-lasting difference. Our members and volunteers provide momentum that helps affect change for kids and families in need.”

4 Kids by Kids provides food donations, haircuts, and backpacks full of school supplies for homeless students. A typical work day consists of packaging food into boxes to take to homeless shelters to hand out to those in need.

Martin said he has learned a lot about perseverance and dedication to a cause while starting his foundation, but the biggest lesson has been that no matter how you help, anyone with the will can make a significant impact in the lives of others.

His foundation is a recognized 501(C)(3) tax exempt organization. Interested students are encouraged to volunteer by contacting Martin directly at gagemartin23@casady.org, and by donating food to make a difference.
