Middle Division (5-8)

The design of the Casady Curriculum moves students thoughtfully and intentionally in support of our Portrait of a Graduate with the goal of inspiring young people to become individuals possessed with a conviction to honor, to learn, to engage, to innovate, to serve, and to thrive.
The Middle Division curriculum is based on the core disciplines of English, History, World Language, Science, and Mathematics.
Students are required to take Elective courses in Performing Arts (choral, instrumental, and percussion), Visual Arts, Computer, and Bible. The addition of a state-of-the-art Makerspace encourages robust and multi-disciplinary programming which applies principles in Computer Science, Engineering, and Architecture across subject areas. Seventh and Eighth Grade students study both a modern language as well as Latin.
By recommendation, Seventh and Eighth Graders have the option to take enriched Algebra or Geometry courses. Daily physical education for the Fifth and Sixth Grades and required team sports for the Seventh and Eighth Grades fulfill our mission to educate the students “in body”. Middle Division students also participate in Our Life Together, a collaborative program with our Student Support Services which provides social-emotional learning and character education.
