Varsity Girls' Soccer: State Champions!

Varsity Girls' Soccer capped off a week of fast and furious play with a State Championship.
On Friday, not only did the Cyclones show up energized to play against rival Cascia Hall, but the student body and school staff also traveled to Claremore for the State 3A Championship, supporting their team in a big way.

In the first five minutes of play, senior Helen Olszewski crossed a pass to senior Madi Salami, who sent the ball into the back of the net. The score then remained 1-0 for the majority of the game. Multiple shots were taken on both sides, and both senior keeper Lilly Johnston and senior defender Molly Shepherd can be credited with multiple saves.

With her second assist of the game, Olszewski dribbled the ball up a third of the field before crossing to freshman Caroline Heaslet who found the back of the net, bringing the score to 2-0 late in the second half.

Senior Claire Anderson earned all of her coaches' praise, by not only playing the entire 80 minutes, but being an all-around MVP; making multiple important passes, several huge defensive blocks, and having a positive attitude that uplifted the team the entire time.
