Learning Beyond the Classroom

Our sixth graders had the opportunity to hear from Casady’s Head of School about his experience living with the Mura Pirahã tribe in Brazil.
His stories brought students’ studies of the Neolithic Agricultural Revolution to life, giving them a unique perspective on why some communities, including the Mura Pirahã, continue to live as hunter-gatherers today. The experience connected classroom learning to real-world experiences and encouraged students to think more deeply about how different communities live and adapt.
