Robo Rally Race

Students in the Upper Division Robotics class partnered to build VEX speedbots, which included designing and coding a control scheme for racing their speedbots using remote control on an outdoor course.
The teams decided between digital or analog input for their speedbot's steering and acceleration, and whether front-wheel or rear-wheel drive was the best option.

The wide array of designs led to equally varied performances when the speedbots were raced in UD Quad earlier this week. Students compared the success of their design to other teams and examined what changes might be needed to improve vehicle success on the course.

The partnership of Sophomore Grayson Wileman and Junior Brody Sheppard emerged as leader in this first challenge for the robotics class.
