PD/UD Literary Exchange

Casady Kindergarten students and seniors in Mrs. Finley’s Creative Writing class celebrated the 15th Year of the Senior-Kindergarten Literary Exchange.
Each year, seniors in the class write and illustrate children’s books, and then visit Primary Division to read their books to kindergarten students.

They experience many steps in the process of book making, including brainstorming ideas for character and plot, designing storyboards, writing the text, and creating illustrations. Additionally, with the help of Instructional Director of Technology Mrs. Sappington, Casady's seniors created digital versions of their books that include their recorded voices, and they made videos to introduce their books.
