Nine Seniors Named National Merit Semifinalists

Casady is proud to celebrate our seniors who have been recognized as National Merit Semifinalists by the National Merit® Scholarship Program:
  • Chris Bankhead
  • Danzel Chen
  • Hope Fahler
  • Raymond Jiang
  • Jolie Jimenez
  • Lauren Kim
  • Suleiman Mansoor
  • Pippa Netreba
  • Angelina Stidham
The National Merit Scholarship Program began in 1955 as an academic competition for recognition and scholarships. High school students enter the National Merit Program by taking the Preliminary SAT/National Merit Scholarship Qualifying Test (PSAT/NMSQT®)—a test which serves as an initial screen of approximately 1.3 million juniors in 21,000 schools—and by meeting published program entry and participation requirements.

Casady’s semifinalists have an opportunity to continue further in the competition, which awards 6,930 National Merit Scholarships worth about $26 million that will be offered in the spring of 2025. From the 16,000 semifinalists, about 95% are expected to advance to the Finalist level and will be notified of this advancement in February.
