Coordinate administration of DIBELS (Dynamic Indicators of Basic Early Literacy Skills) screening for students in kindergarten through fourth grade in Primary and Lower Division; analyze and interpret the data to help make decisions for providing support to students.
Consult with teachers to identify students who need support from the learning specialist based on the following criteria: diagnosed learning difference, teacher recommendation, screening results, and/or parent referral.
Provide direct instruction/intervention to selected students individually or in small groups in areas such as phonemic awareness, phonics, vocabulary, fluency, comprehension, spelling, and written expression.
Work with Director of Psychological Services, Division Director, students, teachers, and parents to develop Academic Achievement Plan (AAP) for students with diagnosed learning differences.
Evaluate curricular interventions to measure student growth and to document efficacy of improvements.
Serve as liaison between students, parents, and teachers.
Consult and provide professional development for faculty to assist them as they support their students.
Collaborate with the Learning Resource Team to provide a school-wide system of support and services for diverse learners, with specific consideration given to transitioning students to the next Division.
The Director of Psychological Services provides psychological and psychoeducational support services to students and parents.
Consult with parents of students.
Observe of students of concern in the classroom.
Conduct psychoeducational and psychosocial screening of students and provide of referral sources for additional services.
Develop and consult regarding Behavior Plans and Academic Achievement Plans (AAP) for students in all Divisions.
Coordinate the Learning Resource Team which provides a school-wide system of support and services for diverse learners, with specific consideration given to transition to the next Division.
Serve as liaison between students/parents and campus or community resources.
Work with Division Directors to coordinate and schedule prevention oriented, mental health-related programs and speakers for the Casady community.
