  • Associate Director of College Counseling + Registrar

    Position Title: Associate Director of College Counseling + Registrar
    FLSA Classification: Full-time/Exempt
    Reports To: Director of College Counseling
    Position Purpose: 
    1) Responsible for counseling upper school students regarding college placement and providing assistance during the application process 
    2) Administer the registration and withdrawal of students at Casady

    Essential Functions

    College Guidance Counselor
    • Manage a caseload of students, providing strategies, advice, support, and guidance to those students and their families throughout the application process and in making the best individualized choice for college.

    Registrar
    • Maintain student academic records.

    Qualifications
    • Bachelor’s degree required
    • A minimum of 3-5 years of experience in college counseling or college admission
    • Excellent verbal and written communication
    • Detail-oriented
    • Outstanding interpersonal skills and ability to work collaboratively 
    • Values diversity, equity and inclusion and has proven success engaging with a diverse student body

    Physical Requirements and Work Environment
    • May work at a desk and computer for extended periods of time.
    • May work long hours for extended periods of time, including, overnight travel.
    • Be able to occasionally lift up to 30 lbs.
    • Work primarily in a traditional climate controlled office environment.

    Additional Functions

    • Guide students and parents through the college application process in both individual and family meetings.
    • Pursue professional development opportunities such as conferences and visiting colleges in order to remain current with industry trends and developments.
    • Cultivate and maintain relationships with college admission officers, including hosting them during their visits to campus.
    • Provide support to students in writing college essays and completing applications. 
    • Write thoughtful and supportive letters of recommendation.
    • Create and submit materials to colleges in support of college applicants.
    • Work with faculty to coordinate teacher recommendation letters. 
    • Assist Director of College Counseling in teaching college seminar.
    • Help present college information nights for parents.
    • Provide routine reports to school administration.
    • Send transcripts to schools for withdrawn students.
    • Provide students with driver’s education forms.
    • Order diplomas and covers.
    • Fill out National Merit Scholar information.
    • Manage Naviance: import SAT/ACT test information, student information and college information, add new students, GPAs and transfer transcripts.
    • Set up transcript in Blackbaud each trimester and check that all courses and grades are showing correctly.
    • Run calculations to determine ranks and awards for graduation.
    • Add new courses plus required information and transcripts to NCAA.
    • Fill out and send information for Oklahoma’s Promise students.  
    • Serve as primary contact for Oklahoma City Community Foundation.
