Eric McEver '05, a Cum Laude member, spoke to the Upper Division students via live stream from Australia.
Students inducted to the Cum Laude Society have demonstrated excellence in their academic work, and good character, honor, and integrity in all aspects of their school life. At Casady, the primary criteria for election is the quality of the curriculum the candidate has chosen as well, the number of nominations received, and the enthusiasm behind each nomination by the Upper Division faculty and current Cum Laude student members. Julieta Zesiger, Chair of the Science Department, is president of the Casady Cum Laude Chapter.
The Cum Laude Society is an international academic fraternity dedicated to honoring scholastic achievement in secondary schools. The founders of the society modeled Cum Laude after Phi Beta Kappa. The society's motto is "Excellence, Justice, Honor." Casady's chapter began in 1961.
