A Montessori EducationAs
a Montessori-based school, our mission of developing excellence, confidence, and integrity in students is expressed through the four goals of a Montessori education: order, concentration, coordination and independence.
Order
Montessori's first goal of order begins with the prepared environment, or what Montessori teachers call their classrooms, and is internalized by the child. The child discovers order is the relationship between objects, individuals, and their place in time and space.
Concentration
Montessori's second goal of concentration is described as a state of essential engagement and ultimately a fundamental source of happiness and fulfillment. In our Primary Division, order and concentration are what excellence looks like.
Coordination
Montessori's third goal is coordination, which promotes independent functioning or the ability to do for one's self. In our Primary Division, coordination is what confidence looks like.
Independence
Montessori's fourth goal is independence, or confident, self-motivated learners discovering the freedom--within limits--to make appropriate, informed, kind, and compassionate choices. In our Primary Division independence is what integrity looks like.
