  • A Campaign for Casady School

Tradition keeps us grounded, improvement keeps us moving

Why Now is the Time

In November 2021, Head of School Nathan L. Sheldon and Board of Trustees Chair Jenee Lister announced the School's initial steps to engage our community in a Comprehensive Campaign. Within a campaign, whether it be bricks and mortar or endowment creation, sustainability and growth are priorities that will change the face of Casady School.

A campaign is the result of well-researched and strategically staged plans designed to bring leadership's vision for the School to life. Priorities are identified through a thorough and exhaustive process that begins with thoughtful dialogue with Casady's Board of Trustees and Administration about the School's future. A Campaign Readiness Study was conducted to ensure that the direction planned for this campus will serve the School's needs now and into the future. Each project in a Comprehensive Campaign is identified due to the programmatic impact it will have.

While we work diligently to address future needs, a school must continue to evolve. As such, Casady School charts this course with an eye to the future.

Places That Inspire | Primary Division

Casady School competes in a marketplace exploding with choices for students. Oklahoma City has schools, both public and private, that have beautiful buildings with wonderful opportunities for learning. As our leadership has looked to the past to keep us grounded in tradition, they must also look forward to where we might be going next in the growth of our campus.

Since 1969, the Loeffler Primary Division Building has served as the first stop on many Cyclones' journeys. Generations of families have found its distinctive open floor plan to be a fun and supportive space allowing students the freedom to explore in a structured environment necessary for healthy growth and development. To better fulfill our Montessori-based mission and support increased enrollment, the Loeffler Building underwent a renovation and expansion that retains everything that makes it exceptional, while modernizing and expanding its educational capabilities. Primary Division's mission has not changed; it remains the foundation of phenomenal education and the first home of so many Cyclones.

This significant construction project has touched every square foot of the existing building. It added roughly 7,500 feet of classroom space to allow for an enhanced Montessori-based learning environment with innovative programming that also accommodates increased enrollment. At completion, the Loeffler Building is approximately 19,000 square feet.

Places That Inspire | Athletics Core

Since the Board of Trustees announced the decision to move the majority of sports to the Oklahoma Secondary School Activities Association, Casady has been building its athletic foundation with a new administrative structure, a focus on core strength and performance training, and the development of a campus master plan focused on athletics.

Casady's Strategic Athletic Plan is built on the five pillars of Character, Sportsmanship, Development, Community Engagement, and Wellness. The School is committed to the athletics program and developing all of our students in PreK through 12 to embrace healthy, active, and wellness lifestyles.

To support these initiatives, two projects emerged as priorities through master campus planning and strategic review of our athletics program. One being a Strength Training and Conditioning Facility that will serve all of our students in PreK through 12. The other being a water-based turf field hockey field for one of the core programs of our School.

The Mathis family has generously made the lead gift for the Mathis Family Fitness and Performance Center. The Payne family has made the lead gift to the Field Hockey complex with the Payne Family Stadium.

People and Programs

A vibrant school is a combination of so many things, and it all begins with the people, places, and programs that make it work. Through the Campaign for Casady School we continue to support those people and programs that make this School so special. Casady works to create traditional, yet forward-thinking, learning environments for our students.

The School's commitment to people, time, space, and other resources across our entire campus is what differentiates Casady from other schools in Oklahoma City. Casady is an educational institution that rises above all others due in part to its strong roots and commitment to a sustainable future.
