Young Alumni Achievement 2019
Associate Producer, Stacey Mindich Productions
New York, NY

Caitlin Clements is Associate Producer at Stacey Mindich Productions, the Manhattan-based Broadway producing office behind the Tony Award-winning musical Dear Evan Hansen. While at SMP, Caitlin has been directly involved with the development of Dear Evan Hansen, beginning with the musical’s earliest readings and workshops in 2014, followed by a 2015 World Premiere production at Arena Stage in Washington, D.C., and the subsequent 2016 off-Broadway run at Second Stage Theatre.
In December 2016, Caitlin made her Broadway producing debut as a co-producer of Dear Evan Hansen, for which she ultimately received a 2017 Tony Award. In 2019, she helped to launch the first international production of Dear Evan Hansen at Toronto’s Royal Alexandra Theatre. Caitlin is also a co-producer of the current North American Tour, soon to be entering its second year, and the West End production set to open in London this November.

In her current role, Caitlin helps to oversee the global marketing of Dear Evan Hansen. She also cultivates and maintains relationships with the production’s mental health and arts education not-for-profit partners, and coordinates Dear Evan Hansen’s annual initiatives to support Broadway Cares / Equity Fights AIDS.

Caitlin began her theatrical career in the office of producer Harriet Leve, where she assisted on the play Ann, a comedy about the life of Texas governor Ann Richards, written and performed by Emmy Award-winner Holland Taylor. Caitlin then moved to Broadway general management office 101 Productions, Ltd., where she worked as Assistant Company Manager on the Tony-nominated revival of Annie, directed by James Lapine. A highlight of that position was facilitating “Sandy’s Rescue Pals,” an unprecedented program where dogs from local shelters visited the theater lobby during intermission to meet audience members and promote pet adoption. Prior to her current position, Caitlin also worked in a marketing capacity for the stage adaptation of The Bridges of Madison County, starring Oklahoma’s own Kelli O’Hara.

Before moving to New York, Caitlin was on staff for two summers at the Oklahoma Summer Arts Institute, where she worked with the Film & Video program. While at Casady, Caitlin was also twice selected to attend the Oklahoma Summer Arts Institute as a Film & Video student. Born and raised in Oklahoma City, Caitlin was a Casady “Lifer.” She attended the College of William & Mary in Williamsburg, Virginia as a member of the 1693 Scholars, a merit-based scholarship program. She graduated Phi Beta Kappa, and with Honors, and holds a Bachelor of Arts Degree in Film Studies and a Minor in French. Using funding from the 1693 Scholars program, Caitlin wrote, directed, and produced a feature-length thesis film titled Rough Draft, which premiered at Colonial Williamsburg’s historic Kimball Theatre. The film then screened at festivals across the country, and received the “Best First Feature” Award at the 2011 Williamsburg International Film Festival in Brooklyn, NY. During her time at William & Mary, Caitlin was also a founding staff member of the W&M Global Film Festival (now entering its 13th year) and served as Executive Director for Alma Mater Productions, the campus-wide programming board.

Upon graduation from William & Mary, Caitlin completed a Masters degree in Cinema Studies from New York University’s Tisch School of the Arts, where she received a departmental fellowship.

Local New York involvements have included America Reads / America Counts, the Tribeca Film Festival, and the New York Public Library’s “Young Lions.” She currently resides in Manhattan with her trusty canine companion, Gatsby.
