Weekly Chapel Service
Casady School is an academic institution that has long been rooted in the Christian faith tradition. Our faith is primarily expressed through the sacraments, liturgy and traditions of our Episcopal identity. While our foundation is solidly Christian, we welcome students of many different faith traditions.
Each Friday St. Edward's Chapel fills with Primary Division students and faculty for a time of spiritual refreshment, prayer and worship. Weekly Chapel consists of an abbreviated, yet spirit-filled, prayer service from the Episcopal Church’s Book of Common Prayer. During the service, students participate in a variety of ways; much of the participation is found within the singing of hymns, praying, interacting with daily scripture readings and listening to a "Chapel talk.”
The “Chapel talk” is done by the chaplains and a Primary Division teacher trained in the Godly Play curriculum, creating a special opportunity for our students to learn values of faith, hope and love. Music, creativity and media often provide the platform through which these values are expressed. The ultimate hope for our students' Chapel experience is that they will not only realize their value as children of God, but also take the values learned within the confines of this Holy place and share them with the world.
